On The Way Home
Monday, on the way back home we stopped two places. We stopped at Woodly Island Marine where there’s a statue of a fisher man standing by the seashore. This statue is representing in memory of the fisherman lost at sea. Every time I come here in Eureka I always stop here to take a picture of him.
Then, we stopped by at Chapman Geology Museum. In this museum you can see a fine mineral, rocks, and fossil of any living things, as you can see in the picture. The last two pictures on the bottom are the dinasour eggs and bone fossil.I had a nice memorial weekend day.

Kinetic Sculpture Race
Friday afternoon, Joe and I drove to Eureka to spend Memorial weekend. The drive was a little bit scary due to the weather. I drove half way and Joe drove half way too. We got there around 11:30 P.m. I was exhausted and hungry. Luckily, there was a McDonald opened until midnight. The next day at Arcada, there was Kinetic Sculpture Race. Kinetic Sculpture Racing is the human powered engineering and art all wrapped up in the most imaginative racing machines you've ever laid eyes on! It's thousands of fans lining the highways, climbing sand dunes and cheering along shorelines for a 93-foot King fish, a three wheeled an evening slipper or a yellow submarine. It's a festival of entertainers, bands and booths filled with souvenirs and race memorabilia. It's a giddy experience guaranteed to make your face ache from smiling so hard.
The race is long and grueling, subjecting the racers and their machines to extreme stresses; some planned, others not. But not to worry, the racers are in top shape (well, a few are.) As for the machines, design is everything. Most make the best of recycled parts from bicycles and the odd riding mower, but many sculptures have more than 100 speeds, and are built with top-of-the-line bicycle components. Still others have made creative use of old auto and motorcycle parts, even whole cars! No matter what they choose to use, they all have one thing in common; they are all custom built, one-of-a-kind creations. This relationship between racer and machine makes it easy to understand the pride they feel when (or if!) they cross the finish line. But finishing isn't everything. Racers and sculptures are judged on a set of criteria encompassing engineering, art, speed and their ability to "Ace" the course.
That night, Joe’s friend Stevie who lives up here treated us to a nice Oriental Chinese Buffet Restaurant. The food was great and I ate a lot. After dinner we went to see a movie. We saw "The Davinci Code" The movie was ok. I didn’t enjoy that much I would probably enjoy watching X-Men. Then, we came back to the Hotel.

Sunny Sunday
Sunday morning, we slept in until 11:00 A.M.. We just hang out the whole morning in the hotel watching tv, relaxing and reading a book. The weather was nice sunny and little bit chilly at the same time. Then we decided to have brunch at Seascape Restaurant in Trinidad Bay. The restaurant is by the seashore. It’s a nice place and has a good sight seeing. As soon as we got there, the place was packed of a customer some of them have to wait for half and hour to get a table and we were one of them, while we were waiting for our table to be ready we took a little walk by the shore. We saw people fishing, sea otter swimming and birds getting some fish to eat and saw people just hanging out. At around 1:00 P.M., we finally settled down on our table and started ordering. I had a combo fried fish with fries and Joe had an omelet. The food was delicious and the fish was fresh. After eating our brunch we headed back to our hotel. Again we were relaxing, watching tv. I did finish my book that I’ve been wanting to finish it so that I can start another book to read.
At night time, Joe’s friend Stevie was having a bar-b-q. We went there for dinner. They prepared a lot of food. It seems like that Stevie doesn’t want us to leave because he always brings food on the table and kept saying eats and eats more. After dinner, Joe and me off we go to Casino. We brought our spare change to gamble just for fun. We spent only half and hour and lost $23. We didn’t like it, and it was kinda boring. We decided to go back to the hotel.

A Day For A Mom
On the 2nd Sunday of May, we celebrate the women who nurture and raise our families our mothers, grandmothers and honorary mom. Mothers are very especial person. Mothers’ day is a chance or any day of the year is a great day to tell Mom how much you love her. Children started out presenting their mom with some flowers. Flowers are one of the most popular gifts. Other gift ideas include card, jewelry, and candy. It’s not the price that counts for this gift. A wonderful idea is to write your mom a letter telling her about how much it means to you that she is in your life. Most mother wants to know that they are loved by their families.
During mothers' day week at school, my children were busy creating one beautiful bouquets flower with a thank you card as a pay back for all the meals she cooked and being a good mom.
POEM FOR ALL MOTHER
" In all my effort to learn to read, my mother shared fully my ambition and sympathized with me and aided me in every way she could. If I have done anything in life worth attention, I feel sure that I inherited the disposition from my mother." HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOM OUT THERE.
